Assessment and Feasibility of PV-Biogas Hybrid Irrigation System Using HOMER-Pro
Techno-economic feasibility of a battery-free PV-biogas hybrid system for agricultural tube-well irrigation in Pakistan, modelled in HOMER-Pro across three pump sizes.

Assessed three configurations — standalone PV, standalone biogas, and a battery-free PV-biogas hybrid with biogas as dispatchable backup.
Biogas sized from farm livestock (20 cows → 11.33 m³/day), zero purchased fuel.
Compared three pump loads: 5 HP, 10 HP, 15 HP, modelled on real tube-well operating hours.
Reported NPC, LCOE/COE, operational cost, energy yield, and sensitivity analysis over 8,760 hours/year.
Result: the PV-biogas hybrid was the most viable option (COE $0.130–0.141/kWh).
